Big Brothers Big Sisters of Franklin County

Start Something Today!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Franklin County and the North Quabbin Region is dedicated to helping children reach their highest potential! Our services provide the backbone to each of our professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships with volunteers.

Our vision, to provide successful mentoring relationships for all children who need and want them changes lives. A child being part of a strong, mentoring relationship, has time and time again, proven to contribute to brighter futures, better schools and stronger communities for all.

Our programs take a number of different shapes - The traditional match spends a few hours a week or every other week doing the activities they enjoy the most. Our case management team provides matches with support, guidance, and monthly match activities to bring everyone together. This community - based program matches carefully-screened adult volunteers with children between the ages 6-14.

Two additional programs, match juniors from either Deerfield Academy or Northfield Mount Hermon with children in the region between the ages 6 and 11. The matches generally last two years until the "Big" graduates. The case management team carefully screens all potential students wishing to become mentors. Match meetings take place on Friday nights throughout the school year, with our staff on hand. The children enjoy the time with their "Bigs" and make lasting connections with mentors who positively impact their lives.

How can you help?

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Franklin County relies upon donations and fundraising in order to run our programs for local children. To keep the vision growing, we need your financial support to continue the work for the 125 sets of Bigs & Littles we currently oversee, and to encourage more local children, who may be facing adversity, to reach out for caring mentors they undoubtedly need.
