Big Brothers Big Sisters of Franklin County pairs carefully screened adult mentors with children aged 6-14. Our matches spend a few hours together every week or two, doing whatever activities they both enjoy.
It would be impossible to list all the activities our community Bigs and Littles enjoy; the list would go “to infinity and beyond”: Legos, sports like bowling, hiking, biking, fishing, or going to the YMCA or the movies. Food is also great ways for matches to spend time. Some matches to cook a weekly dinner together while others seek to find the “best” creamy in Franklin County.
Each Big and Little match has their own Case Manager to turn to for support or guidance. Our policies of are designed to provide an enjoyable and safe mentoring relationship for each child that we serve. No volunteer is matched with a child without the approval of the child’s parent or guardian.
The most important part of each match is the time they spend together. Each Little knows that someone else cares about them and enjoys spending time with them one on one.
